Roaming Solution Suites (Virtual Local Mobile Services)
  • It is a MAP and GTP based service platform located in between the HPLMN and VPLMN, which is acting a signaling relay function (or GTP re-directing) and/or proxy function subject to the service offering.
  • The service platform is architected with the Telecom Service Middleware (TSM) as a common layer for multiple application logics running on top of it. This architecture is to shorten the development lead-time, to provide the flexibility for customization to meet MNO specific requirement as well as to make the application independent of the network integration.
  • The service platform currently provides the following applications
    • One-IMSI-Multiple-MSISDN
      This is the first application of the VLMS which enables the MNO alliances to provide the mobile users with multiple local numbers seamlessly. It has been extended to prepaid user by using CAMEL integration
    • Piggy-back Roaming
      It is to enable a new MNO to have a substantial outbound roaming coverage in short period by anchoring the partner PLMN which already has established roaming coverage.
    • Multiple Profiles
      The service offering is similar to the One-IMSI-Multiple-MSISDN but the SIM card having multiples IMSI, each of them is associated to subscription in each partner network. This new design is to simplify the commercial arrangement between the partnered MNOs. This model is best fit to international MVNO which can offer her subscribers the local number of each partnered MNO so that the subscriber can use the local service seamlessly whenever she roams in the partnered PLMN. At the same time, she is reachable by calling any one of the local numbers.
    • Network Extender
      It is a reverse model of the piggy-back roaming. It is to extend a MNO as a part of partnered MNO which already has established a substantial inbound roaming coverage so as to generate revenue from inbound roamers without direct roaming agreement in place.
    • Visiting Local Service
      It is to provide the local number service for inbound roamer seamlessly without pre-arrangement between networks. The service is also applicable to the case of no roaming agreement. For this scenario, the prepaid charging is applied for the payment settlement.
Smart Call Assistance Service Platform
  • The platform is to assist the inbound roamer in making originating call back to home country as if the dialing pattern in the home network;
  • The intelligent algorithm in the system is to detect the home country of the inbound roamer as well as the dialing pattern so as to determine the directory number to which the user is calling;
  • It is to enhance the successful call rate of inbound MOC traffic so as to increase the roaming revenue and provide the differentiation from other operators for roaming loyalty;
